DSL / Broadband Internet

What is DSL?

DSL stands for Digital Subscriber line and is a digital data transmission over local telephone lines. DSL service is delivered with a regular telephone on the same telephone line. Since DSL uses a higher frequency, it makes using the same phone line possible by filtering. DSL connection works better the closer you are to the main hub.

DSL Broadband Internet

  • DSL internet providers offer dedicated bandwidth
  • Not shared bandwidth like cable internet
  • Speeds range between 1 Mbps to around 7 Mbps
  • No need for an additional phone line
  • New fiber optic internet service is the new Ultra High Speed Internet with speeds up to 30 Mbps

Cable Broadband Internet

  • Cable internet providers offer shared bandwidth so the more people online in your area will slow down your connection speed
  • Average speeds range are around 5-10 Mbps
  • No need for an additional phone line

Comparing internet service is always the best way to ensure you make a wise choice.

Ethernet

Ethernet Connectivity 5 Mbps to 1 Gbps

Ethernet services provide a simple, cost effective solution to private network interconnectivity as well as high speed Internet access. For businesses with multiple locations in and between metropolitan areas, you can achieve point to point or any to any connectivity or a mixture of both. Ethernet service eliminates the need for ongoing configuration and management of additional equipment.

Now you can enjoy the benefits of broadband LAN Interconnection without the added expense. Ethernet service delivers superior dedicated capacity and service for both your private network as well as your public IP connections at a reduced cost.

Metro Optical Ethernet service combines the power of Ethernet and optical technologies across metropolitan area networks (MANs) to provide low cost, scalable and secure bandwidth. Metro Optical Ethernet provides local area network (LAN)-to-LAN connectivity between two or more customer locations within a metro area. The solution is based on distributed Layer 2 switching and shared transport data bandwidth and is suitable for data applications.

Optical Ethernet offers network access links or Ethernet circuits with rate-limited bandwidth increments from five Mbps up to one Gbps using standard IEEE 802.1d media access control bridging.

  • Scalable Capacity available from 5 Mbps to 1 Gpbs
  • Simplify your LAN/WAN Transport interconnection management
  • Native LAN speed performance when sending data between locations
  • Eliminate the need to purchase or manage transport equipment
  • Also available for High Speed Internet Access

Bonded T1

Bonded T1 with Speeds of 3 Mbps to 12 Mbs

A T1 is an industry-standard 1.5 Mbps circuit used to carry voice and data packets. Bonded T1 consists of up to four 1.5 Mbps T1 circuits that behave as one circuit. Speeds are available up to 12 Mbps. Bonded T1 also referred to as NXT1 service enables multiple T1 circuits to be configured together to provide your business with one large Internet circuit.

Carriers can now have the ability to offer bonded T1 circuits in increments of 3 Mbps to 12 Mbps. Using MLPPP (Multi Link Point to Point Protocol) ISP’s are able to accomplish the bonding of multiple circuits to provide the user with one logical connection to the internet.

Bonded T1 solutions are economical and scalable for clients who are in need of connectivity greater than a T1. Save money by leveraging T1 infrastructure compared to DS-3 facilities. Scale quickly and efficiently by adding additional T1 circuits as your business grows. Ensure reliability by Carrier backed Service Level Agreements.

Bundle in a managed router to ensure a seamless solution as you scale for larger capacity.

  • Speeds of 3 Mbps to 12 Mbs
  • Ability to “bond” 2 to 8 Internet T1’s
  • Fast rate quotes
  • Multi T1 Lines
  • Multiple options from AT&T, Verizon, tw telcom and Qwest

We provide Network Solutions on your terms.

Tech Note:A bonded T1 just means that the you have two – four T1 lines (from the same provider) which have been joined together in a special way so that you can use the combined total of 3.0 Mbps of Internet data or the 46 channels for voice/phone use.

Two bonded T1s allow you to use the full bandwidth of 3Mbps where two individual T1s can still only use a maximum of 1.5Mbps at one time. To be bonded the T1 must run into the same router at the end, meaning they must run to the same ISP.
